Becca Jones was brought up in Carmarthen in a Christian home. She always believed in God, but came to realise that knowing about God wasn’t enough and that she had to know Him as her personal Saviour. Since becoming a Christian she has always been interested in mission and felt a growing sense of God’s call to mission work.

She qualified as a doctor in 2008 and then specialised in paediatrics. She is now working in Kiwoko Hospital, Uganda who’s motto is “We treat, Jesus heals”. Her primary responsibility is for the children’s ward and the neonatal unit while out of hours she looks after much of the rest of the hospital. The hospital has set up a sickle cell clinic and a transitional care unit where pre-term babies can stay with their mothers while getting the care they need.

Apart from working at the hospital Becca is also involved in the prison ministry and with the student Bible studies. The hospital has a nurse and laboratory training school. The students receive high quality medical training, but also an opportunity to hear the gospel and be equipped them to share the gospel wherever they serve in the future.
